ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Where and when will the march start?
Meet your fellow water-warriors from 11:00am at Albert Embankment ready to start marching at 11:45am. We will peacefully and purposefully start our walk, heartened with deep blue belief, to Parliament Square.
Where and when is the Rally?
We will be gathering in Parliament Square for a rally with speeches, music and rallying cries from impassioned clean water campaigners from 1:30pm-3:00pm.
Who is Speaking at the Rally?
There will be a brilliant range of speakers from those on the front line of demanding change in their local communities to some more well known activists including Chris Packham. There will also be inspiring music, poems and films to celebrate the beauty and wonder of our rivers, seas, streams and estuaries.
What should I bring to the march?
We are asking everyone to WEAR BLUE so we can flow as a blue wave through London, flooding the streets. Don't forget your props, banners and placards to show the wide range of people that are marching - fishing rods, rowing oars, surfboards, model fish, birds and otters - let your creativity run wild! We are also inviting people to bring a sample of the waters they love to the march so we can bring our seas, rivers, streams and lakes to the doors of power in Westminster.
I’m bringing a big prop with me, where should I drop it off?
Amazing, we love big props! Please contact drew@riveractionuk.com to let us know what your bringing so we can give you directions on drop off and pick up points.
How can I stay up to date on the least info?
Subscribe to the March for Clean Water WhatsApp Channel and follow us on Instagram and X.
Why are we Marching?
We are marching to demand the Government STOP THE POISONING OF BRITAIN'S WATER’S with 3 clear calls:
- Reform Regulation - Conduct an immediate root and branch review of Ofwat & the Environment Agency AND put a complete stop to any industry knowingly and wantonly polluting our waters for profit and greed.
- Enforce the law – we already have the laws and regulations in place to end water pollution. All we need now is this new government to uphold and enforce them.
- Stop pollution for profit – making sure ALL polluting industries invest here and now and deep for the long term, upgrading infrastructure, reducing water wastage and leakage, helping farmers restore habitats, and increasing efficient water use everywhere.
